Freddie Freeman collected his 2500^th hit in a 12–3 Los Angeles Dodgers’ victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Debuted in 2010 with the Atlanta Braves, Freeman is one of the best superstars in the major leagues. He is also a humble family man.

Freeman lost his mother to melanoma when he was 10, and he was extremely close to his mother. He wears long sleeves for every game to honor his late mother and to protect his skin.

Freeman has four children and goes home after long hours at the stadium to be Dad. After hitting a walk-off grand slam in Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, he went home and helped put his sons to bed.

Patience and putting value in showing up are needed to be a good father and a hitter. Freeman is one of the most elite left-handed hitters in the major leagues. Freeman rarely gives up on an at-bat. When a normal major leaguer gets about 500 at-bats, it is normal for any human to take off a minute.

Fans and pundits like to forget that a baseball player is a human being. A baseball player has a bad day. He can lose a night’s sleep because his newborn cried the entire night or a fight with his spouse or girlfriend. He just didn’t feel his best on a certain day. However, maintaining focus required to be a great major leaguer is difficult.

Everyone expects a baseball player to perform at an elite level every day. If he doesn’t, the media and fans attack the poor-performing player. All baseball players must compartmentalize.

Freeman has done this. He looks like he is enjoying playing the game. He has a lifetime batting average of .299. He would love to hit .300 in his major league career during an era when people don’t put much emphasis on batting averages.

Freeman would love to get to the 3000 hits in his major league career, but he has only one more year on his contract with the Dodgers. He doesn’t know if people will want him to play longer. According to Freeman, in an interview on SportsNet LA after Tuesday’s game, he must check with his wife and kids to know if he will have their support. He needs to stay healthy.

Many people think of Freeman as a future Hall of Famer. He is a great ambassador for the game of baseball, no matter if he accomplishes anything else on a baseball diamond.
