For the first time as a Dodger, Shohei Ohtani took the mound only. He had a solid six-inning outing but allowed his first run of the season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers finished a three-game sweep of the New York Mets by walloping them, 8–2, on a beautiful Jackie Robinson Day.

After being hit by a pitch in the right shoulder blade on Monday, the Dodgers decided to have him take a day off from hitting. Ohtani rewarded their decision by giving them a strong performance with ten strikeouts and two walks. His breaking balls were sharp and impossible to hit. He allowed one run in the fifth.

In the second, the DH Dalton Rushing doubled, and Hyeseong Kim followed with a two-run blast.

In the sixth, Teoscar Hernández blasted a solo home run.

Blake Treinen was sharp in the seventh, and Tanner Scott pitched a scoreless eighth thanks to an excellent defensive play by Kim.

Hernández legged out an infield single to begin the ninth. Max Muncy walked, and Andy Pages singled to load the bases. Rushing socked his first major-league grand slam, giving the Dodgers a comfortable lead. For the first time wearing a Dodger uniform, Kyle Tucker homered, a two-run shot.

Kyle Hurt returned to the mound for the first time since April 16, 2024. Although he allowed one run, he performed well in the ninth.

The Dodgers finished a five-and-one homestand. Friday, the Dodgers start a seven-game road trip to Colorado and San Francisco.
