The Los Angeles Dodgers split the day-night doubleheader by losing 2–1 to the New York Yankees.

The Dodgers’ bullpen performed well in their game. Will Klein started the game and allowed a run in the first inning. Kyle Hurt, who was recalled for the doubleheader, pitched two scoreless innings. Before being sent down to Oklahoma City, Hurt struggled with his command, but on Sunday, he dominated in the strike zone.

While Eduardo Henriquez struggled with his command in his 0.2 of an inning, Jack Dreyer bailed him out. Brock Stewart was the most dominant since becoming a Dodger in July 2025. Alex Vesia was perfect in his inning.

Since returning from Tommy John surgery, Evan Phillips has struggled. He allowed a solo home run to Jazz Chisholm, Jr. After allowing another baserunner, Phillips escaped from the eighth inning without another run.

The Dodgers’ offense was anemic in the second game. Two double plays killed potential rallies. Tommy Edman, pinch-hitting for Miguel Rojas, launched a solo home run in the eighth inning.

After a ninety-minute train ride, the Dodgers will start a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies with Emmet Sheehan on the mound.
