The Los Angeles Dodgers live to play Game 7 in the World Series.
Mookie Betts delivered a two-run single in the third to lead the Dodgers to a 3-to-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Dodgers aren’t ruining baseball. The Dodgers and the Blue Jays are showing three countries – the United States, Canada, and Japan – how exciting baseball can be.
Again, Yoshinobu Yamamato showed everyone that he is one of the elite pitchers in the major leagues. On Friday, with his team facing elimination, Yamamoto gave the Dodgers six innings after he warmed up on Tuesday to pitch the nineteenth inning if Freddie Freeman didn’t end it in the eighteenth.
In his six innings, Yamamoto struck out six while walking one. He wasn’t as dominant as he had been during the postseason, but he did enough to win. Using his six pitches, Yamamoto continually baffled the Blue Jays. If the Dodgers win the World Series, Yamamoto should be the MVP.
In the seventh, Justin Wrobleski struck out two, and Miguel Rojas, playing second base, made a fantastic play to get the third out. Wrobleski allowed a double.
Roki Sasaki struggled with his control in the eighth and threw twenty-five pitches, but he had a scoreless inning. However, he couldn’t get any outs in the ninth.
Tyler Glasnow, who was supposed to start on Saturday, threw only three pitches in relief of Sasaki who hit a batter and allowed a double in the ninth. Kiké Hernàndez was alert to catch a runner wandering too far off second base.
The Dodgers must score early and frequently in Game 7 in the World Series. Their entire pitching staff must keep the powerful Blue Jays’ offense silent, and the Dodger defense must play flawless defense to be World Champions.
