A Max Muncy bases-clearing double and a Freddie Freeman go-ahead single send the crowd at Dodger Stadium home happy.

On a warm Monday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers came home from a 1-5 road trip and defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6–5.

While the Royals aren’t the same caliber as the Chicago Cubs and the Arizona Diamondbacks, they drive nice cars too. They played the Dodgers tough, but the Dodgers were too much for the young Royals.

Tarik Skubal made his Dodger Stadium debut. He had a problem with keeping his pitches out of the center of the plate. He struggled, forcing him to throw 95 pitches in five innings. His changeup baffled the youthful Royals. While Skubal seemed to be in constant trouble, he managed to escape the jams. He struck out six while walking two.

After the game, Skubal said that his fastball command wasn’t normal but will be better in his next start.

The struggling Dodger offense battled. In the third inning, Hunter Feduccia doubled and scored on Shohei Ohtani’s double. Freeman’s single brought home Ohtani. Freeman had another single to drive in the winning run.

Alex Vesia was sharp in the sixth inning.

For the entire season, Jack Dreyer has been a reliable left-handed reliever. However, on Monday, he gave up a two-run homer.

Tanner Scott and Edwin Díaz were sharp in relief.

After two more rehabilitation starts, Tyler Glasnow should return to the rotation. On Sunday, he had 2.1 scoreless innings.

Will Smith has been doing baseball activities pain-free. At the end of this week, he will take batting practice on the field.

Tuesday, Blake Snell returns to the mound for the first time since May 9^th when he pitched three innings. Snell told Kirsten Watson of SportsNet LA that his shoulder and elbow haven’t felt this well in a Dodger uniform.
