Shohei Ohtani reached base five times and hurled six scoreless innings.

The Los Angeles Dodgers shut down the Arizona Diamondbacks, 7–0, on Wednesday night at Chase Field.

In the second inning, after Mookie Betts reached on a throwing error, Kyle Tucker blasted out of a slump with a two-run homer and had two more hits. Everyone in the lineup but Alex Call had at least a hit, and Alex Freeland had three hits.

At no point during the game did the Dodgers appear in trouble. Ohtani held the Diamondbacks hitless until the fifth. He used his fastball, sweeper, and curveball to baffle the opposition. In his outing, he struck out six while walking one and allowed two hits.

Johnathan Hernández and Jack Dreyer were sharp in relief.

Gavin Stone won’t be joining the rotation any time soon. He suffered a setback after undergoing right shoulder surgery in September 2024 during spring training, and his body is still letting him down.

On Friday, Evan Phillips is starting his rehabilitation assignment after having Tommy John surgery in June 2025.

Tommy Edman is doing well in his rehabilitation assignment while playing second base, third base, and left field. Soon, he will return to the active roster after having offseason ankle surgery.

On Thursday, with Justin Wrobleski on the mound, the Dodgers will look to take the series against the Diamondbacks.
