After Roki Sasaki allowed three runs in the first inning, the Dodgers never looked back.
On Saturday night at American Family Field, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 11–3.
Sasaki didn’t unravel in the first inning, but the Brewers’ offensive approach prevented him from settling in. But then, he dominated for the next four innings. At one point, he retired ten consecutive batters. While walking two, he struck out four. The maturation of Sasaki as a pitcher in May has been a pleasure to watch.
Alex Vesia, Kyle Hurt, Tanner Scott, and Jonathan Hernández continued the Dodgers’ bullpen dominance.
Through the first three innings, the Dodgers’ offense looked flat for the second consecutive day in Milwaukee. Freddie Freeman opened the fourth inning with a double and scored on Andy Pages’ double. Kyle Tucker walked before Teoscar Hernández lifted a three-run homer.
Hernández drove in six runs in Saturday’s game. Every player in the Dodgers’ lineup, except for Mookie Betts, had at least one hit.
On Sunday, the Dodgers will end a successful nine-game road trip in Milwaukee with Yoshinobu Yamamoto on the mound.
