The Dodgers scored three runs to support Tyler Glasnow’s tremendous eight-inning performance.

On a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Oracle Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers completed their seven-game road trip by shutting out the San Francisco Giants, 3–0.

The Dodgers had struggled offensively all series. For the first time in the series, they took the lead in the second inning on Dalton Rushing’s single. They added two more in the fourth inning with Max Muncy’s double and Hyeseong Kim’s single.

Before the game, Dave Roberts shuffled the lineup and said he would stay with it for the foreseeable future. Kyle Tucker and Freddie Freeman swapped spots. Freeman hit a single, and Tucker had two singles.

Glasnow faced one more than the minimum. He leaned on his sinker and rainbow curveball more than usual. He struck out seven and walked one. Unlike in the recent past, he doesn’t let anything derail him. He is emerging as a National League Cy Young award candidate.

With questions about who will close games for the Dodgers while Edwin Díaz recovers from right elbow surgery, Tanner Scott came in and pitched a perfect ninth inning.

On Friday, the Dodgers return home to face the Chicago Cubs. They begin a six-game homestand against the Cubs and the Miami Marlins.
