The Los Angeles Dodgers advanced to the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies. The Dodgers are the only baseball team that swept the opposition in the Wild Card series.

On a beautiful Wednesday evening at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-to-4. This game wasn’t a cakewalk. While a team that commits three errors usually doesn’t win, the Dodgers did.

As he was for the 2025 season, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was fantastic for 6.2 innings. He worked around a first-inning error by Teoscar Hernàndez even though he allowed two runs. He battled though he didn’t have his best stuff. In the sixth, he worked out of a bases-loaded jam without.

Unlike Tuesday, the Dodgers didn’t hit a home run. Mookie Betts had four hits. The Dodgers had timely hitting. Ben Rortvedt had two hits. Kiké Hernàndez had an important run-scoring double, and Teoscar Hernàndez had a two-run double. Shohei Ohtani had a crucial run-scoring single.

In the eighth, Emmet Sheehan struggled, but Alex Vesia ended the inning a day after he couldn’t throw a strike. Roki Sasaki closed out of the game.
