On a picturesque Saturday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Milwaukee Brewers 8-to-7. Emmet Sheehan didn’t pitch well. The Dodgers’ offense awakened after the All-Star break. Shohei Ohtani, Tommy Edman, and Miguel Rojas blasted home runs. The Brewers have a better record than the Dodgers.

After two good innings, Emmet Sheehan had problems in the third inning when he allowed four runs and a lead-off home run in the fourth. His slider didn’t have any break. The Brewers waited on Sheenan’s fastball and changeup. This was his worst outing since coming off the IL after Tommy John surgery.

Jack Dreyer relieved Sheenan and hurled scoreless fourth and fifth innings. Ben Casparius gave up a run in the sixth but continued pitching in the seventh and retired one batter. Anthony Banda relieved Casparius and allowed a run-producing single.

For the first time since Friday night before the All-Star break, the Dodger offense showed signs of life. In the third, after Miguel Rojas walked, Shohei Ohtani blasted his thirty-third home run. Will Smith singled to follow the home run, and Freddie Freeman walked. Teoscar Hernández doubled in Smith. Freeman scored on a wild pitch.

In the sixth, the Dodgers used three singles by Tommy Edman, Miguel Rojas, and Ohtani for a run.

Lou Trivino relieved Banda in the eighth and allowed a two-out solo home run. Andy Pages committed an error turning a single into a triple.

In the eighth Edman blasted a solo home run. Miguel Rojas pulled a solo home run.

Tanner Scott relieved Trivino in the ninth and issued a walk but pitched a scoreless inning.
