The Los Angeles Dodgers will face the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS for the second straight season.
Last year, the Dodgers swept the Brewers, but the Brewers are a much better team this year. They have the almost unhittable Jacob Misiorowski. They play little ball.
During the regular season, the Dodgers defeated the Brewers three out of seven games. They couldn’t stop the stolen base.
However, they played the Brewers before they acquired Tarik Skubal. Mookie Betts and Kyle Tucker weren’t hitting. Alex Freeland was playing second base. Edwin Díaz wasn’t closing.
This NLCS features the two best teams in baseball during the 2026 season. This is what baseball fans want.
The Brewers play in the smallest market in MLB whereas the Dodgers play in the second-largest market. The Brewers develop their players and let them go when they become free agents. The Dodgers have the perception that they can get any player they want, which is not true.
Pat Murphy is beloved and considered to be a fantastic manager. He doesn’t have much filter with the media.
Dave Roberts doesn’t get enough credit for the job he does. Since 2016, he has won five pennants and three World Series titles. He became the fastest manager to reach 1000 wins. He has to manage superstars’ personalities and get them to work together. His players love Roberts.
Roberts is much more guarded with the media than Murphy, and this fits Los Angeles.
If the Dodgers are going to win the series, they must have timely hitting. They can’t rely on the home run to score.
The Dodgers have the superior pitching staff even though the Brewers have Misiorowski. Yoshinobu Yamamoto has playoff experience, and nothing fazes him. Skubal and Blake Snell have two Cy Young Awards apiece. Tanner Scott and Edwin Díaz are experienced back-end relievers. The Dodgers have a good bullpen. The Brewers don’t have the Dodgers’ pitching depth.
The Dodgers must take advantage of scoring opportunities. After his two-run single against the Atlanta Braves, Andy Pages should have a big series offensively. Teoscar Hernández, Freddie Freeman, and Max Muncy need to continue hitting. They need to work deep counts to tire the Brewers’ pitching staff.
On Sunday night, with Skubal on the mound, the Dodgers will try to continue their road to the elusive three-peat.
