At no point during Saturday’s game did Tyler Glasnow look comfortable, and the Dodgers’ offense took a holiday.

On a late Saturday afternoon at Loandepot Park, the Miami Marlins defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4–3. This loss snapped the Dodgers’ eight-game winning streak.

Glasnow struggled with his command and couldn’t get through the fifth inning. After the first out in the first inning, he stepped behind the mound, twisted and squatted. He allowed three runs in the second inning. Although he struck out seven, he walked one.

Dave Roberts said, “He couldn’t find his rhythm. He was fighting himself.”

Although Glasnow appeared uncomfortable on the mound, he said his back felt fine.

Jack Dreyer came in the fifth inning with runners on. A balk and an error by Mookie Betts allowed the Marlins to score another run.

Justin Wrobleski was sharp in the sixth and seventh innings even though he pitched out of a bases-loaded jam. Seth Halverson pitched well in the eighth inning.

While the pitching kept its team in the game, the offense didn’t respond. After Mookie Betts hit the 10,000^th home run in Dodgers history and Max Muncy followed with a solo shot, the Dodgers went 0-for-13. In the ninth inning, Josue De Paula walked and scored on Alex Freeland’s single. However, pinch-hitter Will Smith lined out to end the game.

Freddie Freeman returned from missing two games with right knee tendinitis. He didn’t get a hit. Roberts said that Freeman will be managed to be as healthy as he can be heading into the postseason.

On Sunday, the Dodgers will try to clinch a playoff berth. Emmet Sheehan will pitch sometime during the game.
