The Dodgers had more traffic than the Pasadena Freeway. They couldn’t hold onto a lead. They went 1-18 with runners in scoring position.

Nomar Garciaparra said, “This was ugly.”

I agree. I was tempted to change the channel.

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals, 8–6.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto was brilliant until the sixth inning. He didn’t allow a hit until the sixth inning. He seemed to be tiring even though he pitched seven innings, allowing four runs on home runs. He seemed to lose his rhythm when the pitch-com malfunctioned. Before that, he could place his pitches exactly where he wanted. He struck out eight while issuing one walk.

Yamamoto said that he mislocated his pitches in the later innings.  

Tanner Scott and Brock Stewart couldn’t retire the Cardinals without scoring runs. Jack Dreyer was sharp in the ninth inning.

At no time during this game did Shohei Ohtani look right. He struck out four times. During his at-bats, his right shoulder seemed to be bothering him. Before the game, Dave Roberts said they needed to have a meeting about Ohtani’s pitching. Ohtani hasn’t driven in a run in eleven days. He hasn’t homered since August 18^th. The Dodgers must have Ohtani’s offensive production. Roberts noticed that Ohtani didn’t look right, and he wants to have a conversation with him about taking a game or two off.

Before the game, the Dodgers placed Eric Lauer with left elbow inflammation on the IL and activated Blake Treinen from the IL. During Treinen’s rehabilitation assignment, he was great. The Dodgers are waiting for more information on Lauer’s elbow.

On Thursday, with Tarik Skubal on the mound, the Dodgers will try to salvage one against the Cardinals. The Dodgers have lost six out of the last eight games. They need to do better before every Dodger fan wants to smash their televisions.
