Dalton Rushing delivered a walk-off two-run single after the Dodgers left 11 men on base and blew a three-run lead.

On a beautiful Friday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Baltimore Orioles, 6–4.

Shohei Ohtani was away from the team awaiting the birth of his second child. Kyle Tucker opened the game with a walk, and Mookie Betts doubled. Max Muncy’s single brought home Tucker and Betts. The Dodgers added another run on Andy Pages’ double in the second inning.

Roki Sasaki dominated the Orioles until two outs in the sixth inning when he allowed two home runs good for three runs. He had great control with his 99-mile-per-hour fastball. He used his slider and splitter to dot the corner of the strike zone. His defense was sparkling. Sasaki struck out six while walking one. He bounced back from a poor start in Chicago.

After Jack Dreyer pitched a perfect 0.2 of an inning, Will Klein came in and didn’t have it. He allowed two runs while recording two outs.

Kyle Hurt and Blake Treinen were sharp in relief.

Going into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Dodgers appeared to be headed for a defeat to snap their three-game winning streak. The bottom of the lineup spent the night chasing pitches until the ninth inning.  Betts’ solo homer cut the deficit in half. After walks by Max Muncy and Ryan Ward, Dalton Rushing, who had a rough night offensively, singled home Alex Call, pinch-running for Muncy, and the Dodgers took advantage of a poor throw to score Ward.

Both Betts and Tommy Edman had three hits apiece.

On Saturday, Yoshinobu Yamamoto will face the Orioles. Last time he faced them, he lost a no-hitter with two outs in the ninth inning.
