On the night when Shohei Ohtani focused solely on pitching, the Dodgers didn’t provide any offensive support.
The Los Angeles Dodgers suffered a 2–1 loss to the Miami Marlins on Women’s Night at Dodger Stadium.
Although Ohtani walked three and hit a batter, he gave his team a quality start. His throwing error gave the Marlins an unearned run. He struck out nine. Ohtani pitched through traffic for the entire night, allowing five hits. He didn’t have his best outing of the year, raising his ERA to 0.60, but he shouldn’t have been credited with the loss.
Tanner Scott, Blake Treinen, and Jack Dreyer were sharp in relief.
The Dodgers stranded the bases loaded in the first inning, and they didn’t threaten until the eighth inning when Will Smith drove in the run.
Blake Snell made his second rehabilitation start and allowed only one hit in three innings.
With Tyler Glasnow on the mound, the Dodgers will look to win the series.
