It is finally over! Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run to end a 6-hour-and-thirty-eight—minute marathon.

This important victory belongs to Will Klein, who pitched four scoreless innings. Before the World Series, no one thought Klein would be on the roster.

The Dodgers didn’t allow a run after the seventh inning. Even Teoscar Hernàndez threw out a runner in the twelfth inning.

On a beautiful Monday evening at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers inched out the Toronto Blue Jays 6-to-5 in 18 innings. Shohei Ohtani had two homers and a double but was walked five times, four intentionally, breaking a World Series record. The Dodgers took a 2-1 game lead in the World Series.

Tyler Glasnow didn’t have his best outing in the 2025 postseason, which put more stress on the Dodger bullpen. A Tommy Edman error undermined Glasnow in the fourth inning when the Blue Jays scored four runs, including a three-run homer by Alejandro Kirk. Glasnow had three walks and struck out four times.

The Dodgers made countless baserunning errors, which made the game go longer. Kiké Hernàndez scored on Ohtani’s double. Freeman singled in Ohtani.

Going into the World Series, the Dodger bullpen was viewed as a weakness, but it enabled the Dodgers to win this game. Justin Wrobleski and Emmet Sheehan proved that they threw off their World Series nerves.

In the twelfth with two outs and bases loaded, the future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw got the last out of the inning.

Edgardo Henriquez and Klein proved they belonged on the World Series roster.

Since Dave Roberts used Jack Dreyer, Blake Treinen, and Kershaw for only 0.1 inning each, they will be available for Wednesday’s game.

The Blue Jays lost George Springer to an oblique injury. If he can’t play for the rest of the Series, it would be a huge advantage for the Dodgers.

Freddie Freeman is the only player to have two walk-off home runs in the World Series.

Every Dodger reliever had #51 for Alex Vesia, who is dealing with a deeply personal matter with his wife, on their caps.
