To start his major league career, Clayton Kershaw struck out Skip Schumaker. To end his 18th regular season, his last, he struck out Eugenio Suarez.

Like usual, Clayton Kershaw pitched well for 5.1 innings. He finished his regular season career with the lowest ERA of 2.54 in the live ball era.

On a beautiful Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Park, the Los Angeles Dodgers slammed the Seattle Mariners 6-to-1 to end the 2025 season. Hyeseong Kim, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani homered. Landon Knack pitched the last 3.2 innings. The Dodgers have 93 wins and 69 losses in the 2025 season.

The Dodgers will host the Cincinnati Reds starting Tuesday for the National League Wild Card.

The day belonged to the future Hall of Famer Clayton Kershaw. This season, he has the second-most starts and innings by any Dodger starter. Yoshinobu Yamamoto has the most.

Kershaw used everything he had to retire the Mariners. He had seven strikeouts to give him 3,052 strikeouts. He had 223 wins and 96 losses. His classic slider was the last pitch that he threw during the regular season.

When Freddie Freeman took Kershaw out after he had a strikeout in the sixth, it was perfect. Even in Seattle, Kershaw received a standing ovation. Every baseball fan respected Kershaw. In his career, he had 102 scoreless outings. He is the greatest pitcher of all time.

Shohei Ohtani hit his 55th home run to set a franchise record. He set it last year with 54 home runs.
