On a beautiful Monday night at Angel Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Los Angeles Angels 7-to-4. The Dodgers have played the Angels four times in the 2025 season and lost all games. Their lead in the National League Western Division is one game over the San Diego Padres.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto had an extra day off, but he was lousy. He lasted only 4.2 innings and allowed a career-high six runs and five walks. He had six strikeouts. He must pitch better.
Despite a solo home run off Alexis Diaz, the Dodgers’ bullpen of Jack Dreyer and Anthony Banda pitched well to allow the offense to get into the game.
Before the seventh inning, the Dodgers’ offense appeared to be asleep. In the seventh, the Dodgers left a runner in scoring position. To open the eighth, Shohei Ohtani blasted his 42nd home run. After Mookie Betts and Will Smith singled, Max Muncy blasted his 17th home run.
For the first time this season, Mookie Betts played right field.
