On a picturesque Thursday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the San  Diego Padres 5-to-3 to snap their five-game winning streak. Yoshinobu Yamamoto was okay for 6.1 innings. Shohei Ohtani prevented the second bench-clearing situation of the night.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, with a new delivery, was perfect in the first.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the first.

With an out in the second, Yamamoto allowed a solo home run and retired everyone on a fly ball.

The Dodgers went down in order in the second.

In the third, Yamamoto struck out the side.

With an out in the third, Tommy Edman singled. Shohei Ohtani singled Edman to third. The Dodgers couldn’t capitalize on a scoring opportunity.

Yamamoto was perfect in the fourth.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the fourth.

Yamamoto allowed two singles and a sacrifice fly. He gave up another single but escaped from the jam without allowing any more runs.

Edman walked in the fifth with two outs, and Hyeseong Kim singled Edman to third. The Dodgers wasted another scoring opportunity.

With an out in the sixth, Manny Machado reached on an infield single but was erased on a double play.

The Dodgers didn’t do anything offensively in the sixth.

Yamamoto gave up a lead-off double in the seventh. Then, he allowed a run-scoring double. Lou Trivino relieved Yamamoto with an out in the seventh and plunked a hitter. A sacrifice bunt advanced the runners into scoring position. Trivino escaped from the jam scorelessly.

Teoscar Hernández singled to open the seventh and went to second on a bobbled ground ball. Edman walked. A wild pitch advanced the runners into scoring position. The Dodgers wasted another scoring opportunity.

Jack Little relieved Trivino in the eighth and allowed a lead-off triple. He gave up a run-producing single. Another single. Another infield single loaded the bases. He allowed two runs but got out of the inning.

With an out in the eighth, Miguel Rojas, pinch-hitting for Mookie Betts, singled but was stranded.

Little continued pitching in the ninth. After Fernando Tatis was plunked, the benches cleared. Both managers were ejected. Little escaped from the ninth scorelessly.

Teoscar Hernández and Max Muncy walked to begin the ninth. Edman drove in Hernández and moved Muncy to third with a double. Kim’s ground ball scored Muncy. Shohei Ohtani was plunked. Ohtani prevented a bench-clearing situation. Ohtani moved to second. Rojas walked to load the bases. A wild pitch scored Edman.
