The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the defeated-looking Brewers 3-to-1 to take a 3-game lead in the NLCS. Only the 2004 Boston Red Sox came back from this deficit to win the ALCS, and Dave Roberts was a member of that team. Therefore, he won’t let the Dodgers do that.

Tyler Glasnow didn’t have his best stuff on Thursday, but he battled through 5.2 innings, allowing only a run. A magnificent defensive play by Max Muncy, who is not known for his super defense at third base, shut down the Brewers and took out the Brewers’ heart. After the second, Glasnow just sailed through his outing.

For the first time in the postseason, the Dodger bullpen of Alex Vesia, Anthony Banda, Blake Treinen, and Roki Sasaki didn’t give their fans a heart attack. They were completely in control.

To open the game, Shohei Ohtani tripled and scored on Mookie Betts’ double. In the sixth, Will Smith singled, Freddie Freeman walked, and Tommy Edman singled in Smith. On an errant picked-off throw by Abner Uribe, the Brewers’ closer, let Freeman score.

During the game, the Brewers lost their 21-year-old right fielder, Jackson Chourio, to a hamstring strain. The Brewers looked like they didn’t have any hope after Muncy’s play. Every time the Brewers hit the ball hard, Betts, who was nominated for a National League Gold Glove at shortstop, was there. He made a remarkable play to retire the first batter in the ninth.

Barring a historic, remarkable comeback, the Brewers will watch the World Series from Cancun.
