On a beautiful Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium, the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago White Sox 6-to-1. Finally, Yoshinobu Yamamoto received good offensive support while he was brilliant for 7 innings. The Dodgers scored four runs in the first. Shohei Ohtani blasted his 30th home run. the Dodgers have a commanding lead in the Western Division.
Michael Kopech went back on the IL with right shoulder inflammation. He missed most of this season with a right shoulder impingement. Dave Roberts hopes that Kopech will be able to return soon.
The Dodgers scored four runs in the first. After Will Smith and Max Muncy walked, Teoscar Hernández singled in Smith, Andy Pages doubled in Muncy, and Michael Conforto singled in Hernández and Pages. In the third, Pages singled in Smith. With two outs in the fourth, Shohei Ohtani sent the ball to people for his 30th home run.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched well for 7 innings with allowing a mere run, walking a mere batter, and striking out 8. He had everything working for him. He didn’t labor at all. For the first time this season, Yamamoto had adequate run support.
Jack Dreyer relieved Yamamoto in the eighth and hurled well.
Anthony Banda relieved Dreyer in the ninth, and he struck out the side.
